Time Still Time Still is a platformer with puzzle elements where the player controls a small ball. It consists of 24 levels. Areas are made up of single screens, but only the parts nearest to the ball are illuminated. The aim of each level is to catch all glowing objects. To get around, the ball needs to dodge thumping machines, outsmart drones shooting bullets, avoid spikes and lasers, and use temporary platforms.

The most important game mechanism is the ability to freeze time. Not only does it halt all movement in the level except for the ball itself, colouring the screen in shades of grey, it also opens up new possibilities. When frozen, certain bullets no longer harm the ball and can be used as temporary platforms. Time can be frozen as long as needed, but as soon as it is disabled or a sparkling object is touched, everything starts moving again. Presenting simple problems at first, completing levels soon becomes a complex pattern of precise timing, moving blocks and quick switches of time manipulation.

Part of the difficulty is also caused through a distortion of the visual presentation, rendering the outlines of all objects in a blurry haze. This effect can be disabled in the options. Accompanied by an unnerving soundtrack, levels can be replayed for an infinite number of times until all objects have been collected, a requirement to progress. [source:mobygames]
