Cubology Cubology is a 3D color matching game. On arcade mode, the objective is to clear a pile of multicolored cubes, by dragging them with left mouse button and connecting three or more of the same color. The camera can be moved with the right button, and new cubes are continuously added from above by mechanical claws. A cube can climb over another one, but not over a stack. Groups of matching cubes disappear when touching each other. Some cubes have jewels inside, and can only be removed by covering a whole layer with them.

Each arcade level has a different field layout, varying in the degree of maneuvering space available to move the cubes. If the pile gets too tall the screen starts to shake, and if the height is not lowered in time the tower explodes and the game is over.

Special cubes help or hinder the player with the task. Static cubes can't be moved. Iron cubes can't be matched or moved. Sliding cubes keep moving until hitting a corner. Magnetic cubes stick to any other nearby cube. Spray cubes paint a group with the same color. Bomb cubes have a counter, showing the number of moves allowed before they explode clearing the field.

In puzzle mode, each level has an specific objective that must be achieved, detailed in a text briefing at the selection menu. The player wins ranking stars after completing a level, and the amount received depends on how fast the level was solved. Stars are used to unlock new levels.

The game comes with an extensive integrated editor, allowing users to create, save and load new custom levels. [source:mobygames]
