Jack the Ripper: Letters from Hell Jack the Ripper: Letters from Hell is a hidden object game based on the famous case about the Victorian serial killer that slaughtered several London prostitutes in 1888. The player assumes the role of a journalist investigating the case, and at the same time interfering with police work by forging letters to promote the case and increase his newspaper's circulation. Most of the time, the objective is to find all the items listed at the bottom of the screen, on locations related to the plot and filled with assorted paraphernalia.

The interface at the left side has a magnifier button to enlarge the screen and make the search for small objects easier, and a hint button that highlights the position of one of the required items. There is a limited number of hints available, with extra hints starting to appear as golden stars on the scenery after spending all of them. Mini-games occasionally appear between scenes, where the player must answer questionnaires, reassemble a tripod camera by observing and following its shadow, wipe out select pieces of graffiti and perform other mundane tasks. The game language can be set to English, French, Spanish, German or Italian. [source:mobygames]
