Panic Invaders 44 seconds to the end of Earth...

In this vertically scrolling top-down shooter you control a small space craft and your mission is not to save Earth, but to take as many aliens as possible with you before Earth (and you too) gets destroyed.

You have to dodge enemy missiles, shoot down alien ships and collect power-ups - all within those 44 seconds (though you can extend that by 1 second for every alien ship you destroy).

At the beginning, you only have to dodge the just fired missiles from those alien ships, but later in the game you see why Earth is doomed... the aliens throw anything they have against Earth and you have to dodge a huge endless mass of missiles. [source:mobygames]
