Popcorn, Soda ... Murder? The player is put in the role of a detective in the Greenvale Police department, wrenched from enjoying an afternoon movie ("The Prince and the God") on his day off by the discovery of the corpse of the theatre's projectionist, Louis Lawrence, in the booth after the movie's ending. Police descend upon the theatre and with the assistance of the manager, Serge Goode, and concession clerk, Helena Nerissa, all three of the movie-goers who left the screening room during the movie are rounded up.

The player gets to examine the projectionist's booth and the victim's body as well as interviewing the manager and concession clerk. The police chief, Benjamin Elyot, is on hand to report forensic findings and shoot down ludicrous claims the player may make in the painstaking construction of a preliminary deduction. Later, the player gets to listen to the killer's alibi and has one chance to poke a hole in it -- or a killer walks free. All interaction is through the selection of multiple-choice options [source:mobygames]
