The source material comes directly from episodes of the animated TV series The Batman/Superman Hour (1968?1969). A shapeshifter comes to Earth seeking a new queen for his people. Rising out of an old well on Perry White's farm, Mr. Mist first appears at the Daily Planet's company picnic. The misty being can transform into a perfect duplicate of any person simply by absorbing into a person's abandoned clothes. When he focuses hie attentions on Lois Lane and tries to kidnap her, Superman steps in to save her.
